About Beth

When Life Feels Like Too Much…

Maybe the worry won’t switch off at night. Maybe the same argument keeps repeating with someone you love. Maybe you’re watching your teen struggle and don’t know how to help, or you’re the teen and it feels like no one understands. Or maybe nothing is exactly wrong, but life feels heavier, emptier, or more complicated than it should.

Whatever brought you here, you don’t have to figure it out alone.

You don’t need the right words or a clear explanation for what you’re feeling. You can show up anxious, angry, exhausted, hopeful, or completely unsure. I’ll meet you where you are and move at your pace, without judgment or pressure to have everything figured out.

My goal is to help you feel seen as a whole person—mind, heart, and spirit—not as a problem to be solved.

If therapy is new to you, the first session is simply a conversation. We’ll get to know each other, talk about what’s bringing you in, and explore where you’d like to go from here. There’s no pressure and no commitment beyond that first step.

What Our Work Together Looks Like

I’m a practical, steady presence. Beyond making sense of what you’re feeling, I want you to walk away with something you can actually use: small, workable shifts that hold up in the middle of an ordinary week. Depending on what you bring, that might mean:

Steadying yourself after a loss, an upheaval, or a season that rearranged everything. Untangling the conversations that keep getting stuck with the people who matter to you. Giving teens a place to feel understood, and the confidence to face what’s in front of them. Loosening anxiety’s grip, and finding your way back from the flatness and fog of depression.

I draw on Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT,) Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT), mindfulness, and a neuroscience-informed approach, and for couples I use the Gottman Method along with Prepare/Enrich and SYMBIS. Mostly, though, I shape how I work around you.

Some people find that faith and spirituality play an important role in healing. For those who would like it, I offer the option of incorporating a faith-based approach into therapy. If that’s not for you, we can focus solely on evidence-based clinical techniques and leave faith out of the process. The choice is always yours.

Here’s Why I Became A Therapist…

Counseling is my second career. I spent more than two decades in education, ministry, and nonprofit work, sitting with people through hard things, before I decided to do it on purpose and went back to school. None of those years went to waste; they’re part of what I bring into every session.

My experiences taught me how to listen deeply, build trust, and meet people where they are. They also reinforced my belief that everyone deserves a safe space to feel heard and supported.

I enjoy helping people. I light up when something finally clicks for someone. I’m warm, hard to rattle, because the deepest work often happens in rooms where we can feel light.

I hold a Master of Arts in Counseling and I’m a Certified Facilitator for Prepare/Enrich and SYMBIS. I have experience providing individual, couples, and group therapy to clients of all ages. My approach is collaborative and tailored to each person’s unique goals and circumstances. Together, we can work toward greater clarity, healing, and connection.
